<image:caption>Call me weird, but I wish I’d experience that one-Zoom-too-many sensation everyone’s talking about. Other than watching a YouTube clip of Simon Cowell almost blubbering, I’m totally out of the loop. I’m part of a legion of grandparents who, during the pandemic, are serving as parent stand-ins. To use a ’70s’ expression, it’s been, uh, real. But there have been glitches. The biggest glitch: my age. I am 68.</image:caption>

<image:caption>IN my dream life, I am rolling in dough, or as they say in financial circles, I am ''very liquid.'' I'm a snob and very materialistic. I want to move to a larger home, demonstrating in concrete terms my upward mobility - or my rapid spiral into greater debt, depending upon how one looks at such things. For me, in my dream life, there's no getting caught in the mortgage crunch when you're looking for a $500,000 house. Easy Street, that's my address.</image:caption>

According to Ellen Pober Rittberg, an author and mom from Roslyn, your teenagers will hornswoggle you. They will lie. They will try to throw at least one party involving "Fermented Grain Products" at a time when you aren't home. They will lead a secret life that it's your job to infiltrate.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Ellen Pober Rittberg, author of "35 Things Your Teen Won't Tell You, So I Will" (Trade Paper Press, $9.99), points out that parents who dress like teenagers are on shaky ground. "The question to ask is 'Am I wearing clothing that's provocative?' " she said. But humor can help. Pober Rittberg uses the Yiddish terms "puppicks" to refer to the belly area and "toocheses" (took-is-es) to refer to the rear end in enforcing dress codes.</image:caption>

<image:caption>What a great time to be a grandparent (as if there were ever a bad time)! We are probably the only generation that actually likes some of the same music our grandchildren like. We can also approach our grandkids with far more delicacy and subtlety than their parents, who, despite the yeoman effort they may be giving to the task of raising teens and tweens, may often not be as effective as we can be in reaching their children. Why? Because we’ve been there. We’ve done that. And we have lived to tell the tale, none the worse for wear.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This science-fiction play will happen in a dystopian land — Manhattan. An upcoming production gives new life to a Brooklynite’s 30-year-old script about a dystopian future. “Sci Fi,” which first debuted in Kings County in the late 1980s, returns for a limited run at the Hudson Guild Theater in Manhattan starting on July 29 — telling a love story against the backdrop of a tyrannical government and a stratified society, said the playwright.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Playwright Ellen Pober Rittberg has never gotten stuck in an elevator, but she was intrigued by the idea of setting a play in a hotel elevator on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year. [Sabbath elevators stop at every floor automatically.] So she wrote a play. A zoom play reading of what she describes as a Me Too thriller, will be performed Sunday, November 8th at 8PM EST by JOCUNDA FESTIVAL, directed by the Festival's artistic director, Van Dirk Fisher.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In this humorous self-help book, award-winning journalist and attorney Ellen Pober Rittberg serves as a guide and cheerleader to family members who undertake to care for their elderly parents. Sharing the stresses and satisfactions when caring for her aging mother, Rittberg uses comical chapter headings such as: • Be The Alpha Dog • Boundaries? Huh? Your Aging Parent Has None • Your Parent May Develop Sticky Fingers • JEOPARDY! (why elderly parents need their favorite show even when they can't answer any of the questions) Rittberg shares with readers the life-changing, humbling and deeply rewarding benefits of caring for elderly parents and knows a good belly laugh is the best stress reliever.</image:caption>

<image:title>Essays - My Turn: Grandma's tales from the trenches of pandemic parenting</image:title>

      <image:title>Essays - LONG ISLAND OPINION; A Mother Wins a Timeout From Soccer</image:title>
<image:caption>SUDDENLY, I'm a free woman. No, I have not become single. My children haven't prematurely flown the coop or otherwise become minors of (financially) precociously independent means. My kids, 7, 8 and 10, aren't playing soccer this season, having played each spring and fall for five years.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Essays - When Owners Become Renters</image:title>
<image:caption>IN my dream life, I am rolling in dough, or as they say in financial circles, I am ''very liquid.'' I'm a snob and very materialistic. I want to move to a larger home, demonstrating in concrete terms my upward mobility - or my rapid spiral into greater debt, depending upon how one looks at such things. For me, in my dream life, there's no getting caught in the mortgage crunch when you're looking for a $500,000 house. Easy Street, that's my address.</image:caption>

<image:title>New Book (Copy) - WHY IS GRANDMA NAKED?</image:title>
